岗位职责：
|
THE POSITION:
The Hardware Engineer is responsible for providing engineering input to the product development projects assigned to him/her including interfacing with the cross functional team consisting of engineering (hardware, software, mechanical), operations (industrial engineering, production, and material procurement), sourcing, quality, service, and marketing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Design and develop board level hardware
● Research and select hardware components
● Familiarity with embedded design using microprocessors/microcontrollers
● Create schematic of the design
● Experience with designing analog/digital circuitry
● Experience designing with switching/linear power supplies
● Supervise PCB layout; specify component placement, analog/digital, high speed, power planes layout guidelines
● Experience with troubleshooting electronics to the component level
● Familiarity with test firmware/software to verify the hardware
● Familiarity with software debug/programming tools
● Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT)
● Experience with simulation tools
● Supports product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs)
● Conduct design reviews
● Develop and maintain documentation, such as test procedures, software specifications, manuals, etc.
● Apply engineering knowledge and experience to improve products, services and processes
● Acts as a resource to mentor and teach less experienced engineers
● Use lab equipment including oscilloscopes, data acquisition equipment, and power supplies
● Travel to other Generac facilities as necessary
● Other duties as assigned

任职要求：
|
Basic Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
● 5-10 years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware PCB board design
● Uses basic engineering knowledge to improve products or services
● Able to solve basic engineering problems; good decision-making skills
● Proficient with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
● Proficient oral and written communication
Additional Skills Preferred:
● Experience in design of industrial/automotive electronic control systems and assemblies
● Experience with Freescale PowerPC and/or Microchip PIC microcontrollers
● Experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and layout
● Familiarity with simulation software such as P-Spice, Mentor Graphics Hyperlynx, Matlab Simulink
● Experience with designing battery charging circuitry, Switch-Mode Power Supply (SMPS)
● Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing
● RF/wireless controls knowledge
● Conduct FMEA/DFMEA analysis
● Experience with design release process
● Knowledge of PID loops
● Communication protocol/ hardware interface knowledge, such as RS232, RS485, CAN, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, Flash, EEPROM, ADC/DAC, WiFi/Bluetooth
● Design to meet agency compliance such as UL, CSA, NEC, CE, FCC, NFPA, EPA
● Experience with Agile software development practices and tools |
